According to an hhgregg-commissioned survey of 1,000 consumers across the U.S., 52 percent of Millennials believe there should be a holiday celebrating America’s First Ladies, and nearly the same percentage (50 percent) have been inspired to take action in their own lives based on a First Lady’s initiative.

Of 10 well-known First Ladies, ranked among the top four favorites were Jacquelyn Kennedy Onassis at 48 percent, followed by Eleanor Roosevelt (44 percent), Hillary Clinton (37 percent) and Michelle Obama (34 percent), according to the hhgregg survey. A former photographer, the late Mrs. Kennedy undertook a White House restoration campaign that ultimately led to the declaration of the White House as a living museum, creating a true place in history for the home of the first family. Other first ladies, like Hillary Clinton, focused on energy, while Michelle Obama made healthy habits her platform and Laura Bush elevated literacy.
