Acceleron Pharma Announces Executive Appointments and Promotions

Acceleron Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:XLRN), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of novel therapeutic candidates that regulate cellular growth and repair, today announced two executive promotions and appointments from within the organization. Steven Ertel has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer; he previously held the title of Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer. In addition, Matthew L. Sherman, M.D., has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.
