Primoris Services Corporation Announces Water Award Valued at $16 Million

Primoris Services Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: PRIM) (“Primoris” or “Company”) today announced a new water contract with a municipal customer valued at $16 million. The contract was secured by Cardinal Contractors, part of the East Construction Services segment. The work is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2015 and should be completed in the second quarter of 2016.

  • The project will essentially double the capacity of the water treatment plant in Abilene, Texas. The job will be run out of Cardinal’s Dallas office.
  • The City of Abilene has preselected most of the process equipment to fast track the first phase of the project, which should be completed within a 120 day timeline.
  • The work includes the construction of new pretreatment facilities to improve the quality and efficiency of the existing membrane filtration system, as well as installation of a new parallel membrane filtration system. Improvements to the raw water delivery and chemical feed systems are included as well. These modifications will take the facility from its current capacity of 6.0 Million gallons per day (MGD) to approximately 12.0 MGD of clean potable water placed into the system for the residents and business of Abilene.
  • The project scope includes approximately 3,600 cubic yards of concrete, approximately 10,000 cubic yards of structural excavation, and nearly 11,000 feet of underground piping.
