Kaplan University Promotes Jennifer Lasater to Vice President Employer and Career Services

Kaplan University today announced the promotion of Jennifer Lasater to Vice President, Employer and Career Services.

Ms. Lasater has served as the University’s Executive Director of Career Services since 2010. Under her leadership, Kaplan University has grown its career services team from eight career specialists to approximately 60 today. She has also expanded the department’s reporting of state-by-state student employment statistics.

“Jen has led an amazing transformation in Career Services, with the size, reach and capabilities of the department growing exponentially,” said Craig Collins, Senior Vice President of Kaplan University Corporate Development and Services. “In her new position, she will play an even more pivotal role in making sure career development is a part of every student’s experience.”

As Vice President, Ms. Lasater’s role extends to working with various companies who are looking to or who already partner with the University.

In addition to her work at Kaplan, Ms. Lasater has been active in The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), where she will hold a seat on the Board of Directors, starting in July 2015. She has previously served NACE as co-chair of both the Membership Development Committee and the Face2Face Committee.

Ms. Lasater holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication from Illinois State University; and most recently, a Certificate in Executive Management from the University of Notre Dame.

Ms. Lasater is based in Chicago.
