Prudential’s Beth Canning honored by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization

Beth Canning, supplier diversity manager at Prudential Financial, Inc. [NYSE:PRU], was recognized recently as “Outstanding Women’s Business Advocate” by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization (WPEO) for her support of women-owned businesses.

“Prudential is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for diverse vendors to compete for business and Beth demonstrates an unparalleled dedication to fostering Prudential’s commitment for women business owners and all of our diverse suppliers,” said Donna Harris, Prudential’s vice president of Strategic Sourcing.

According to Marsha Firestone, president and founder of WPEO, “Our programming initiatives, partnerships and advocacy empower WBEs to build relationships with Fortune 1000 companies and with each other. It is my privilege to recognize these extraordinary WBEs, corporate members and advocates in the New York and Washington, D.C. regions, acknowledging their continued participation, support and commitment to WPEO.”

Canning said Prudential has many significant diverse supplier relationships and has made inroads into non-traditional areas such as legal firms, where it engaged certified minority and women-owned law firms, and that these efforts are integral to the company's core focus on embedding diversity and inclusion into the workplace, the market and the community. “I’m honored to receive this award and proud to be part of a company that supports its vendor diversity program as a key component of our diversity and inclusion framework,” said Canning.
