As part of his application essay, Mr. Law said, “In high school I unfortunately didn’t apply myself as much as I wish I had. Now that I’ve been in the real world for a number of years, I realize the importance of education and my fondness towards it.”

The scholarship program was open to qualified Securitas employees whom are Veterans or current members of the military and interested in pursuing a degree program designed to enhance their job skills. Mr. Law served over five years in the United States Army and has been a Securitas USA employee for nearly three years.

Mr. Law was presented with the scholarship at a Region President’s meeting held yesterday at the Securitas North American headquarters in New Jersey and will be featured in a company-wide magazine. Kaplan University’s Senior Vice President of Military Affairs Scott A. Kilgore commented, “James has demonstrated a dedication to his employer and an interest in pursuing his degree that is certainly honorable and well-deserving of the scholarship, which will assist in achieving his professional goals.”

As a result of his scholarship, Mr. Law is pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration at Kaplan University and will begin studying in July.

“After reviewing a number of scholarship applications, it was clear James would excel in pursuing his degree while being able to work full-time,” said Andre Walker, Vice President of Training and Development, Securitas. “It’s through our partnership with Kaplan University, we are able to offer access to education to our employees, many who are military Veterans.”
