UPDATE 1-U.S. sports blackout case gets class action status

NEW YORK, May 14 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Thursday said lawsuits accusing Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and broadcasters of illegally restricting viewers' ability to watch their favorite sports teams may proceed as a class action, but that damages cannot be awarded on a classwide basis.
