The BUILDINGS editorial staff evaluated finalists for the money-saving qualities their products offer to building owners and facility managers in areas such as energy consumption, water savings, lighting, security, roofing and maintenance.

The Orbio os3 system replaces conventional, daily-use cleaning chemicals that often contain added chemical coloring and fragrance. Through the process of water electrolysis—which combines water, electricity and a small amount of salt—the os3 system creates a cleaning solution and a disinfecting/sanitizing solution, right on site, that meets U.S. EPA regulatory guidelines for disinfection and sanitization. Designed to fit in most janitorial closets, the os3 is compact, affordable and simple. The system makes cleaning processes more efficient, streamlines training, and helps improve health and safety. It also decreases the environmental footprint associated with conventional packaged chemicals by reducing packaging and transportation.

The cost of ready-to-use (RTU) conventional packaged chemicals is typically higher than Orbio os3 RTU solutions and can fluctuate substantially, depending on the type of cleaner or disinfectant used and the application. The cost per RTU gallon of Orbio os3 solutions remains relatively consistent and low no matter what the application*.
