The “IndieGoGo Crowdfunding Campaign” launched today August 10, 2015 and will continue for 45 days, during which Bradley would generate funds needed for Candyman Candies. Once the campaign is over, he will begin the construction and setup of a rented space with a tentative grand opening date 6 weeks later, in time for Thanksgiving, right in the hub of California City.

“I am doing this to provide a much-needed store in my community where everyone can have the opportunity to enjoy what many people get to enjoy in most communities around the nation, regardless of whether they can drive or not,” states the founder of Candyman Candies, Shawn Bradley. “Studies show that ice cream and treats always put a smile on your face. I remember when I was a child I would go to the ice cream shop or bakery and get some goodies. I also remember the ice cream truck coming by all the time after dinner daily. I want everyone to enjoy this like old times, whether they are in a big city or a rural community like ours.”
In addition to a retail store, Candyman Candies will have an ice cream truck with treats stocked on board. This truck will service the communities of California City, Boron, and Mojave daily. A delivery service of limited items will also be offered to these communities. Candyman Candies plans on having an online website to cater to the 48 continental US states, through which people would be able to order products and merchandise, and have it shipped to them.
As always, Bradley seeks to give back to the community. Therefore, the new business seeks to donate a portion of every sale to support local programs and events, as well as the Wounded Warrior Project.
