Prudential Annuities names Melissa Kivett Senior Vice President and Business Strategy Officer

Melissa Kivett has been named senior vice president and Business Strategy Officer for Prudential Annuities, a business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU).

In this newly-created role, Kivett will lead the overall development of business strategy, reporting to Lori Fouche, president of Prudential Annuities. She will join Prudential Annuities senior leadership team.

“As we embark on a more holistic approach to strategy, planning and execution, Melissa will apply her extensive career experiences in building innovative and customer-focused growth platforms to her new position in Prudential Annuities," Fouche said.

Prior to joining Prudential, Kivett served as senior vice president, Business Development and Strategy, for Assurant, the New York-based specialty insurer. In this role she led the development of strategy for a diverse mix of insurance businesses as well as non-insurance technology and services businesses. She also served as senior vice president, Investor Relations for Assurant, overseeing the company’s initial public offering. Kivett also oversaw Branding, Marketing and Communications at Fortis, Inc., Assurant’s predecessor. She was a member of Assurant’s Leadership Council and European Board of Directors.

Kivett holds an MBA from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. She is a member of Columbia Women in Business and the Financial Women’s Association.
