Allied World North America Expands Public D&O Underwriting Team; Appoints Marc Berner

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG (NYSE:AWH) announced today the appointment of Marc Berner to the North American Public Directors & Officers (D&O) underwriting team, effective immediately. Mr. Berner will be based in New York in the role of Vice President, Public and Private Financial Institutions, D&O.

Mr. Berner has almost 20 years of experience with management liability insurance, most recently as the Department Head, Financial Services Division at Hartford Financial Products, where he had national responsibility for all aspects of underwriting executive liability and fidelity lines for financial institutions and private equity firms. Prior to that, he spent eight years as Vice President, Financial Institutions Division, at Axis Insurance. Mr. Berner is a graduate of State University of New York in Binghamton, NY, and received his J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, NY.
