Miami's own Legacy Fit is hosting its first annual Trunk and Treat Halloween celebration, inviting the community to the unique spin on trick or treating.

Halloween is right around the corner and millions of children across America are enthused to take part in traditional trick or treating. Legacy Fit, one of Miami's premier bootcamp gyms and pro athlete training facilities, is putting a fresh spin on the candy gathering tradition.
On October 28th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, the Miami bootcamp gym will transform its parking lot into a dream come true for many sweets hungry children by playing host to the first Annual Legacy Fit Trunk or Treat Celebration.
“We are always looking for ways of being a positive influence in our community,” said Legacy Fit founder and pro athlete trainer, Manning Sumner. “Hosting the Trunk or Treat event is one way of showing our involvement and that we appreciate our members, their families and our neighbors in Midtown.”
For the event, the parking lot outside the bootcamp facility will become home to dozens of cars and trucks, the trunks and truck beds decorated for the holiday and providing a safe venue for hundreds of children to take part in “Trunk or Treating.”
“Times have changed and many parents don't feel secure about letting their kids trick or treat in the traditional way,” explained Legacy Fit Event Coordinator, Jai Faith. “By attending the Trunk or Treat party at Legacy Fit, parents are able to let the kids go from vehicle to vehicle within a safe and secure location.”
Encouraged to go all out, those vehicles involved will be eligible for prizes for best decorated trunk in addition to being a part of a Halloween celebration unlike any other. Prizes will also be awarded in the costume contest.
“We've got some great vendors contributing to the event,” continued Faith. “There will be face painting and lots of giveaways, a costume contest, best trunk decoration prizes, music, food and samples from many of the vendors. So far, we're preparing for a turnout of at least 250 kids and their parents!”
While the event is already unique in its design, animal lovers in attendance are encourage to register for a free pet adoption.
“There are so many loveable dogs in shelters in Miami, just waiting for a permanent home,” stated Sumner. “We like to take every opportunity to help find homes for as many animals as we can. And there are many people out there who just need a little push to give a good home to one of those dogs.”
Space for vehicle participation in the Legacy Fit Trunk or Treat party is limited and by reservation only although Sumner has extended an invitation to attend the annual event to everyone.
“Everyone is welcome,” a smiling Sumner explained. “It's going to be a great time for everyone who shows up. I'm a bit of a kid at heart so I'm really looking forward to it.”
