UPDATE 1-Cost cutting lifts Norfolk Southern profit, offsets revenue drop

CHICAGO, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Norfolk Southern Corp, the No. 4 U.S. railroad, on Wednesday reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit that rose on an ongoing productivity and cost-cutting drive that offset a revenue drop of more than 7 percent.
