Apple's AirPods are delayed (AAPL)

Apple told TechCrunch on Wednesday that it needs "a little more time" before it can release its truly wireless earphones called AirPods.

Here's what the Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch:

“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers.”

The AirPods were originally meant to be released in October. Unfortunately, there's no telling how much time Apple needs, or when it'll release the AirPods.

There's a lot of fancy tech packed into the sleek and slim AirPods package.

Apple's AirPods are essentially Bluetooth earphones with Apple's W1 chip, which makes for easy pairing and connecting to your Apple devices when you open the AirPod's charging case. It's one of the best things about the AirPods, as the pairing and connecting process with regular Bluetooth headphones can be a frustrating and convoluted affair.

The AirPods also have sensors that sense when they're in your ears to automatically start and stop music playback.

One thing they're missing, however, is good music controls. As my colleague Steve Kovach said in his review, "you have to do everything through Siri or directly on your phone" and tell it what you want out loud, which isn't as easy as tapping a button or swiping a touch surface for simple tasks, like adjusting volume or playing the next song.

Either way, they're an overall good, convenient pair of wireless headphones. Just try not to lose them, or even just one!
