As part of the company’s inaugural Spring Clean on March 31, an estimated 500 employees from ServiceMaster Global Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SERV) will tackle 10 cleaning and beautification projects simultaneously, fulfilling their promise to help protect and maintain the neighborhood surrounding their soon-to-be new corporate headquarters.

“As we prepare to move 1,200 people to our new headquarters in Downtown Memphis, we wanted to demonstrate our commitment to the revitalization and momentum of the city,” said ServiceMaster CEO Rob Gillette. “Since cleaning and restoration are part of what we do for a living, we thought it would be a great opportunity to give back to the community, starting in our own backyard and in nearby neighborhoods where our employees and all Memphians can see what a difference we can make.”

ServiceMaster employees will volunteer in a range of neighborhood beautification projects, including park clean-up and debris removal, assisting with urban murals, landscaping and refurbishing the exterior of the historic Cossitt Library, Memphis’ first public library.

Spring Clean is a great example of how we can all work together to make positive change in our great city,” said Eldra Tarpley White, executive director of Memphis City Beautiful, which was established by a city ordinance in 1930, making it the first and oldest beautification commission in the United States. “All of the participating community partners are elated over ServiceMaster employees’ time and passion for giving back.”

In June 2016, ServiceMaster announced it was renovating the former Peabody Place Mall into its new global headquarters, complete with Class A office space and a state-of-the-art innovation center. The company’s new downtown corporate offices will be home to all three of its business segments: American Home Shield, Terminix and its Franchise Services Group, which includes well-known brands ServiceMaster Restore, ServiceMaster Clean, Merry Maids, Furniture Medic and AmeriSpec.

The four-level, 340,000-square-foot structure is adjacent to the historic Peabody Hotel. ServiceMaster officials expect to open the new innovation center in the second quarter of this year and complete the move into the new headquarters in early 2018.
