Government Properties Income Trust Announces Six Additional EPA ENERGY STAR Certified Buildings

Government Properties Income Trust (Nasdaq: GOV) today announced that six of its buildings have received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ENERGY STAR certification for the first time in 2016. To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, a building must earn an ENERGY STAR score of 75 or higher, indicating that it performs better than at least 75% of similar buildings nationwide. In addition to these six buildings, 44 other GOV buildings have previously received, and currently have active, ENERGY STAR certifications. These 50 combined buildings have a weighted average ENERGY STAR score of 86. All 50 of these buildings are managed by RMR Real Estate Services, a division of The RMR Group LLC.
