Cyber Academy of South Carolina Students Head Back to Online Classes August 23rd

Students and teachers at Cyber Academy of South Carolina (CASC), an online public charter school, head back to the virtual classroom on Aug. 23rd. A statewide school available tuition-free to students in grades K-12, CASC provides students with the flexibility to pursue a learning pathway that is right for them.

CASC students tackle a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, English/language arts, world languages, history, art and music. In high school, students can take electives and AP® courses, and explore options for future higher education and career opportunities directly through their course work.

As a part of the school’s Destinations Career Program, participating high school students gain exposure to a variety of careers while at CASC. Destinations introduces students to technical and specialty trade skills through career technical education (CTE) courses, and student can select a focus in either business management and administration or information technology careers. Students can then go on to take exams to earn trade-recognized credentials.

For students with a desire to progress in their education at an advanced pace, CASC partners with participating colleges and universities across the state, allowing students to earn college credits along with their high school diploma through dual enrollment. CASC graduates have been accepted to a variety of higher education institutions, including Clemson and the Citadel.

“Students enroll in CASC for a variety of reasons,” says Head of School David Crook. “With online school we are able to meet their needs with a truly personalized education experience that sets them up for success.”

South Carolina-certified teachers facilitate live, interactive online classes, and communicate one-on-one with students via phone and email. In addition to the virtual classroom, CASC students have access to resources such as books, workbooks, and materials for experiments and projects, and connect in-person at learning sites throughout the state. Outside of class time, students, families and teachers enjoy meeting at school events in their communities and through student clubs and activities.
