Intellicheck’s Age ID Helps Fayetteville, Arkansas Police Department Put the Lid on Underage Drinking

Intellicheck (NYSE AMERICAN: IDN), an industry leader in identification authentication solutions, today announced that Fayetteville, Arkansas police officers are using Age ID to heighten the enforcement of laws and regulations that prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. Age ID authenticates driver licenses and other forms of government-issued identification providing real-time results in spotting altered and fake IDs.

““The purchase of even one alcoholic beverage by a minor is one too many,” said Cpl. Tiffney Lindley of the Fayetteville Police Department. “What’s at risk for these young people is the potential loss of life or life-altering injury that leaves them, their families, friends and everyone in the community devastated.”

“It is critically important that our officers are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to be able to deal with the challenges we face every day in keeping young people from purchasing alcoholic beverages. Age ID gives us the ability to catch the flood of highly sophisticated fake IDs that are so readily available to young people,” Cpl. Lindley explained.

The Fayetteville Police Department includes more than 180 sworn and civilian members who are dedicated to assuring the safety of more than 80,000 residents. Their Underage Alcohol Enforcement Program addresses several areas including compliance checks and bar checks at local establishments. The Cops in Shops program places undercover officers at the doors and drive-up windows of local establishments. The department works closely with Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control and University of Arkansas Police Department. The University of Arkansas has a population of over 27,000 students.

“We are proud of the contribution Age ID is making in advancing the efforts to prevent underage drinking by the dedicated men and women of the Fayetteville Police Department. Age ID has earned its reputation for excellence because of the vital difference it is making in enforcement and regulatory compliance for local and state agencies and businesses across the country,” commented Intellicheck CEO Bryan Lewis.

Age ID is seen by many in law enforcement as the most effective identity authentication and age verification technology solution available. Easy to adopt and use, Age ID verifies the authenticity of driver licenses and other bar-coded, government issued IDs in real-time with 99.9% accuracy. It can be deployed on mobile devices including smartphones and tablets as well as at the point of sale.
