Tyler Technologies to Provide Brazos Electronic Citation Solution to Fort Worth, Texas

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) signed an agreement with the city of Fort Worth, Texas, for Tyler’s Brazos electronic citation solution. The city’s police, code enforcement, and parking enforcement departments will all use the public safety solution to streamline citations by moving from paper to electronic processes.

The city of Fort Worth was familiar with Tyler’s Brazos implementation in the nearby city of Arlington, Texas, and chose Tyler after its bid through the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA).

The city’s three departments will use and benefit from Brazos in different ways. The police department will receive 150 handheld ticket writer units, which will be used with Brazos’ electronic citation solution. The solution will interface with the court’s software as well as with its active directory, allowing for real-time communication between departments. Brazos will also allow for a user to run a query about a resident on the handheld device, validate any possible warrants on that person, and automatically populate information directly into a citation. And, the electronic tickets will be able to print in English and Spanish.

For the parking and code enforcement departments, staff will quickly experience time-saving benefits with the elimination of paper processes. Parking enforcement will become more streamlined with eChalking for parking spaces, and enable faster ticketing processes. For code enforcement, Brazos will aid in producing electronic tickets for specific code violations.

“Brazos’ flexibility to run on different hardware is a unique offering we provide to our clients, and we’re pleased that three different departments within the city can be connected through our solution,” said Mike McAleer, general manager of Tyler’s Brazos solution. “This agreement expands our strong presence in Texas and particularly within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. We’re eager to help Fort Worth streamline its citation process and help its staff better serve their community.”

Fort Worth is the 16th largest city in the U.S. and the fifth largest city in Texas with a population of more than 850,000. Tyler also provides its Munis solution to the Fort Worth Independent School District.
