TOMI™ will be presenting at booth 1313 from June 13 - 15, 2018 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. In addition to live product demonstrations, the TOMI booth will feature a patient room disinfection simulation. TOMI will also unveil its new "EZ-SteraMist™ Terminal Clean Disinfection Cart."
TOMI's presence at this year's APIC comes on the heels of its recent announcement that SteraMist™ is currently participating in a large study which compares hospital terminal manual cleans to SteraMist™ terminal mechanical cleans using its patented iHP™ disinfecting technology. The study is being conducted at one of the largest hospitals west of the Mississippi River and a level 1 trauma center, LAC-USC Medical Center, in addition to two other Los Angeles public hospitals, UCLA Olive View Medical Center, and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Progress and results will be shared as obtained from the study's lead investigators.
The SteraMist™ equipment currently being used in the study has received praise from EVS teams and leadership from all three hospitals regarding its ease of use, overall efficacy, and efficiency in providing a quick turn-around time of patient rooms. In connection with this study and addressing the needs of EVS staff, TOMI designed a prototype stainless steel cart which houses all pieces of disinfection equipment in an all-in-one cart. In partnership with MAXAIR® a power air purified respiratory (PAPR) systems, the "EZ-SteraMist™ Disinfection Cart" carries modified SteraMist™ equipment, the MAXAIR® helmet PAPR, an air scrubber, hooks for coiling power cords, a cautionary sign to notify when a room is being treated, and space for extra BIT™ disinfectant solution.
