Cabot Corporation Shares Sustainability Progress with Release of Latest Sustainability Report

Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) today announced the publication of its latest Sustainability Report. The report, titled “Making a Difference,” details the Company’s sustainability progress throughout 2017, and highlights its plans to focus efforts on 11 highly material topics. The report was developed in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards: Core Option and serves as a Communication on Progress in support of United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Cabot became a signatory to the UNGC in 2015 and remains committed to continuously improving the integration of the UNGC principles into Cabot’s corporate strategy, culture and operations.

Accomplishments highlighted in the 2017 report include:

  • Continued progress towards 2025 NOX and SO2 emission reduction goals, having achieved 93% and 26% of our goals, respectively.
  • Broadened our range of sustainable products, including the acquisition of Tech Blend which enables us to utilize recycled plastic in our masterbatch products.
  • Reduced the number of environmental non-conformances by 15%.
  • Continued a strong focus on implementing process safety measures, resulting in no significant process safety events.
  • Contributed $1.45 million in charitable donations from the Cabot Corporation Foundation and Cabot’s global locations to support the communities in which it operates.
