Citrix Application Delivery Infrastructure Keeps Southern Nevada's Transportation Data Safe

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, is helping the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada to manage contractor access to government systems and data, and to streamline IT management for the commission.

In 2006, RTC began working with Citrix to create an application delivery infrastructure solution that essentially isolates the government network from contractors while still allowing access to needed information and programs. Using Citrix XenApp, contractors working with RTC now use their own computers to securely access only the software and data necessary for their work. All data is protected behind the firewall at RTCs data center, and Citrixs built-in security makes it easy for RTC to protect data without the need for time-intensive installation of software on the contractors computers.

Today, XenApp delivers critical software applications such as Orbital and Trapeze, for both contractors and employees and the transportation provider is finding many additional uses for its Citrix application delivery system. Access from remote sites, even for large, GIS-based programs, is now faster and more secure. And, RTC estimates that the resulting ability to handle software installations at the server level instead of touching every single RTC computer saves the government weeks of delivery time.

Citrix will be showcasing transportation-specific application delivery solutions at this years American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Subcommittee on Information Systems 2008 event, April 13-16, 2008, in Biloxi, Miss.
