The winners were announced at the 18th annual JOLT Awards Ceremony held at the Software Development West 2008 Conference and Expo. The induction into the JOLT Hall of Fame is a particularly special honor, reserved for products whose high-quality has been proven and maintained over time. VMware Workstation joins recent JOLT Hall of Fame inductees including IBM developerWorks (2006), Microsoft Visual Studio Professional (2005) and Macrovision Installshield (2004).
Dr. Dobb’s prestigious JOLT Awards recognize those products that have "Jolted the industry with their significance and made the task of creating software faster, easier, and more efficient.” Winners are selected from among hundreds of qualified nominations by an esteemed panel of judges consisting of industry insiders, columnists, and technology leaders.
