CDW Sapphire Partner Program Identifies Companies Offering Key Technologies and Solutions

CDW Corporation, a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today released its 2008 Sapphire Partners. Of the approximately 1,000 partners that CDW has, only 64 bear the Sapphire designation, and they are deemed to be companies with innovative products and/or services driving emerging or breakthrough trends in the technology marketplace.

CDW has always worked closely with our partners to increase the breadth and depth of products and technology solutions that we provide to our customers, said Matt Troka, CDW vice president of partner and product management. The Sapphire Partner Program recognizes that important product and service innovations often come from companies that would not qualify as top tier partners under conventional definitions. The Sapphire Partner Program provides a conduit to identify and bring those technologies to market.

As an important part of the Sapphire Partner selection process, CDW segment leaders in each vertical have the opportunity to identify technology solutions important to the customers in their market. This process allows CDW to translate its understanding of its customers objectives and challenges directly to the selection of technology solutions. In the retailing industry, for example, CDW selected Chase Paymentech to be a Sapphire Partner, based upon merchant processing requirements uncovered during discussions with customers in that market segment. Companies designated as CDW Sapphire Partners work closely with CDW account managers and technology specialists to provide information, advice and support for products and solutions of increasing interest to CDW customers. Examples of technologies offered by CDW Sapphire Partners include:

  • Enterprise storage systems supporting the highly evolved iSCSI protocol, as well as market needs for sophisticated data de-duplication and storage management
  • Wired and wireless mobility solutions that increase network access and productivity
  • Voice, data and video solutions that enable highly efficient, flexible and cost effective transmission across converged networks
  • Innovative, Internet protocol-based physical security systems, such as IP cameras and networks to replace conventional CCTV
