Citrix Synergy Attracts More Than 2,000 Attendees and 65 Sponsors and Exhibitors in Its Inaugural Year

Today at Citrix Synergy, the event where virtualization, networking and application delivery meet, Citrix Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) announced the company hosted more than 2,000 attendees from 933 companies and 44 countries who gathered to discuss the future of application delivery. In addition, more than 65 leading IT vendors joined Citrix as sponsors and exhibitors, displaying the hottest new technology in virtualization, networking and application delivery.

Held in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center, this years three-day mega-conference included four separate industry events designed to bring attendees up to speed on the latest application delivery trends and technology:

  • iForum: the traditional Citrix user conference with the latest on Citrix products with over 40 hours of deep technical content
  • Application Delivery Industry Expo: breakout tracks on hot topics and the latest products and solutions from leading industry vendors
  • IT 2.0 Business Symposium: strategy and networking in a condensed, one-day schedule designed exclusively for the C-level business IT professional
  • Geek Speak Live!: an un-conference where industry tech experts, analysts and bloggers pick the topics and facilitate the sessions

Features this week at Synergy 2008 included:

  • Entertainment from Emmy-award winning comedian Dana Carvey.

Citrix hosted Synergy 2008 in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center, but will move the conference in 2009 to the MGM Grand Resort and Convention Center in Las Vegas. Citrix Synergy 2009 will be held May 4-7, 2009.

Synergy 2008 closes on Friday, May 23rd at noon.
