ISI, a leading provider of software and services to streamline the drug development and regulatory approval process, today announced that Jinsoo Kim, the company’s founder and CEO, will be honored as a recipient of the 2008 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards.
Organized by the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC), the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award is the first and largest business award program for the Asian American business community. The award recognizes successful Asian American entrepreneurs with extraordinary accomplishments in the field of business or who have made exemplary contributions to their companies.
“It is a true honor to receive this award,” said Jinsoo Kim, CEO and founder of ISI. “Not only does the award recognize achievement, it also celebrates the spirit of cultural diversity and excellence in business. I am proud to share this award with the many dedicated and hard-working employees of ISI worldwide.”
Jinsoo Kim’s founding of ISI represents a true American success story. Kim immigrated to the United States and immediately became interested with computer software technology. Within three semesters, he earned a master’s degree in computer science from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, and 14 years later, an Executive Master of Technology management from the same university. He began his career at Laser Recording Systems, where his leadership and vision led the company to develop two breakthrough technologies: an optical New Drug Application, considered the first electronic submission to the FDA using optical disk technology, and DAMOS, the standard application for submission to the European drug agencies.
In the 16 years since founding ISI, Jinsoo has built the company from a one-person business operating out of his New Jersey home into an international technology leader employing more than 400 in the United States, Europe, China, and Korea. Today, ISI is a highly diversified business offering comprehensive, innovative services and products that accelerates regulatory submissions.
