Don't Miss the Chance to Nominate Your Favorite Educator for a 2009 H-E-B Excellence in Education Award

The deadline to nominate a Texas Educator for a 2009 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards is rapidly approaching. Act now to ensure your favorite educator receives the recognition they deserve. Just one nomination can place a teacher, principal or a school district on the path toward winning a cash prize ranging from $5,000 to $100,000.

Nominations can be submitted online at www.heb.com/education.Nomination forms can also be picked up at any H-E-B store. All nominations are due by November 21, 2008. Teachers, principals and school districts are also strongly encouraged to submit their names for consideration.

Following the close of the nomination period, all nominees will be sent an application form to complete. This form requests additional information from the nominee for judging purposes. Completed application forms will be due January 2, 2009.

Those not nominated during the nomination period are still strongly encouraged to submit an application for consideration. Applications are available for download at www.heb.com/education or at H-E-B stores. Direct participation in the awards program this way does not have an effect on the judging process. All applications are equally weighed.

Following a regional judging process, 48 finalists will be selected and invited to compete further for an H-E-B Excellence in Education Award and cash prize.
