Verizon quarterly earnings rise 15%

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Verizon Communications Inc. on Tuesday posted a 15% increase in fourth-quarter profit driven by healthy wireless gains, but the company's traditional local-phone business continued to shrink rapidly.
