Nexion Launches Sales Coach Program to Support Leisure Travel Agents

Nexion(R), one of the leading North American host travel agencies, announced the launch of its Strategic Sales Coach program to help member agents improve sales in a recessionary environment. Starting with a pilot phase in the first quarter of 2009, the program partners Nexion agents with a designated sales coach who supports leisure travel agents in achieving their specific goals and improving sales.

“Having a good travel agent is now more important than ever,” said Nexion general manager Jackie Friedman. “With the current economic situation, suppliers are heavily marketing their products to fill vacancies, making it difficult for consumers to navigate all the special offers and deals. Nexion offers the resources and support for travel agents to accelerate their success and become prosperous travel professionals through a combination of training, sales coaching, social networking, and business and marketing plan development.”

Highlights of the Strategic Sales Coach program include:

  • Weekly coaching calls

“Our coaches will work with members to set realistic goals and advise them as they strive to reach short- and long-term milestones,” said Friedman. “There are avenues to drive sales in an economic downturn; we’ll help our member agents fine-tune their techniques so they can meet their business goals.”

Nexion will evaluate the pilot program at the end of the first quarter and may expand it across its membership.
