The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) attracted a wave of call buying on Tuesday. Traders on the International Securities Exchange (ISE) bought to open 1,259 calls on TRV, compared to just 29 puts. The stock's single-day ISE call/put volume ratio arrived at 43.41, revealing a distinct preference for bullish bets over their bearish counterparts.
The skew toward optimistic options is also reflected in TRV's 10-day ISE call/put volume ratio of 2.05, which indicates that calls bought to open have more than doubled puts purchased during the past two weeks. This ratio ranks higher than 69.2% of comparable readings taken during the previous year, as traders are buying the equity's call options at a faster pace than usual.
