Profits down at Duke, PPL, Progress, Entergy

Earnings from Duke Energy, Entergy, PPL Corp. and Progress Energy retreated in the face of lower demand, a mild summer in parts of the U.S. and a slower economy, according to second-quarter results from the giant power generators on Tuesday.
