Cognex Corp. (Nasdaq: CGNX) reported sharply higher second quarter earnings of 30 cents per share compared with 19 cents per share a year earlier that surpassed analyst expectations by a wide margin and forecast current quarter revenue ahead of estimates. The stock price leaped $5.31 to close at $43.11.
