United Continental Holdings (UAL) is negotiating a big jet order with Boeing (BA) after talks with Airbus fell apart, Bloomberg is reporting. The company is looking to buy 200 narrow-body planes. That many 737s would cost about $17 billion, Bloomberg notes, at least at retail prices (airlines tend to get special rates for big orders).
Before it merged with United, Continental bought all its planes from Boeing.
