Visual 2000, North America’s leading developer of technology for the apparel businesses, has scored highly in the annual PLM solution evaluation by the industry experts at WhichPLM. The comprehensive supplier evaluation was released in April, grading the Visual PLM.net software above the industry average overall and specifically in key areas such as asset management, concept development, multi-language support and calendar management.

“For a supplier to undertake a WhichPLM Evaluation shows the utmost confidence and conviction in their solution offering” stated WhichPLM CEO, Mark Harrop. The evaluation, touted as “completely impartial”, rates vendors on over forty different processes of the PLM software. Beyond the above industry average rating, the report found that “Visual PLM.Net is a mature product, with good functionality informed by experience, a commendable focus on integration, and a clear roadmap for future development.”

Particular strength was noted in the Visual PLM.net software integration with Adobe products. “The approach to development is demand-driven rather than marketing led,” noted Visual 2000’s Vice President of Research and Development, Charles Benoualid. “It’s always been important that the PLM platform fits into how Visual 2000 customers work.” The report observed that the integration with Adobe Illustrator offered “functionality far in excess of a standard image whiteboard”.

The WhichPLM supplier evaluation also highlighted Visual 2000’s inclusion of business intelligence reporting. Although other PLM suppliers offer some business intelligence functionality, it is not usually included as a part of the out-of-the-box configuration. PLM, short for product lifecycle management, is a branch of business software that helps companies collaborate and keep track of their product development. Modern PLM solutions are cloud based, allowing data and assets to be centralized for retrieval from anywhere. In line with this trend, the Visual PLM.net platform is built on Microsoft Azure cloud, allowing enterprise level security, scalability and accessibility. “All Visual 2000 products stand on the foundation of Microsoft products,” Benoualid noted, “the Azure cloud was a natural choice. It gives Visual PLM clients the ability to grow and scale effortlessly.”

With a strong endorsement behind their PLM offering, Visual 2000 plans to expand the feature set, pursue clients and expand the knowledge and feature usage of partners already using the platform.
