Chase Sapphire Preferred and Bravo Media Celebrate Series Premiere of “Top Chef Duels” with Tasting Event in New York City

Chase Sapphire Preferred®, a premier travel rewards card from Chase, in partnership with Bravo Media co-hosted the “Top Chef Duels” Premiere Tasting Event in New York City. “Top Chef Duels” host and judge Curtis Stone, judge Gail Simmons and 13 critically-acclaimed chefs featured in the premiere season participated in the duel-infused event, which included head-to-head cooking demonstrations playing on themes like hot versus cold, and traditional versus modern. Chase Sapphire cardholders were offered a unique VIP experience that included early entrance to the event, an opportunity to meet and take photos with “Top Chef Duels” contestants and an exclusive preview of Episode One of the new series.

Several dueling pairs from “Top Chef Duels,” including Richard Blais and Marcel Vigneron, among others, competed in a live demonstration to celebrate the series which pits 18 personalities from past seasons of “Top Chef” and “Top Chef Masters” against one another in high-stakes cooking challenges. Chefs Kevin Gillespie and Art Smith participated in a fried chicken duel, while Dale Talde’s Korean short ribs faced off against Tiffani Faison’s spicy sticky Thai ribs.

Tickets for this exclusive event went on sale to the public July 14, and sold out in less than three days. All public ticket sale proceeds totaling $9,300 went to City Harvest, the world’s first food rescue organization, which is dedicated to helping feed the nearly two million New Yorkers who face hunger each year.

“The ‘Top Chef Duels’ Premiere Tasting event not only provides our cardmembers with an exceptional culinary experience, but it also gives us the opportunity to support the local community with a donation to City Harvest,” said Lisa Walker, general manager, Chase Sapphire. “We were thrilled to once again partner with Bravo to host a special premiere party celebrating their award-winning ‘Top Chef’ franchise.”

As a full-series partner of “Top Chef Duels,” Chase Sapphire Preferred is also sponsoring other activities to engage fans, including an on-air vignette featuring Top Chef D.C. winner Kevin Sbraga introducing fans to his favorite seafood restaurant in Philadelphia and an interactive map featuring restaurants throughout the country that are recommended or owned by “Top Chef Duels” contestants.
