The new division of Chery InternationalÂ - Chery Mobil Indonesia will deal with car distribution on the Indonesian market.
Chery intends to build twelve automobile sales centers in the country, eight of which will be located on the Java island, othersÂ - on the islands of Bali, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
The first automobile sales center has already opened its doors to customersÂ - it is a six-storey and 1,000-square-meter building for the models of Chery brand. More than $4 million was invested in the construction of offices in central Jakarta. The opening ceremony of automobile sales center was attended by representatives of the global Chery office. Zhou Biren, Deputy General Manager of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Chery International Co., Ltd. emphasized that Indonesia is one of the most significant markets for the Chinese auto industry.
Three new models for the Indonesian market were presented at the opening: EastarÂ - stylish and capacious, designed to breathe the new life into the MPV market of Indonesia; Chery Tiggo, which is popular at every market, where Chery is presented; and TrasncabÂ - pickup, not presented in Russia.
The Indonesian market is not new for Chery, in recent years the car brand was represented by partner company. Now, with the foundation of Chery office, the sales and the service quality will go to the next level.
Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. was founded in 1997 by five of Anhui’s local state owned investment companies with an initial capitalization of RMB 3.2 billion. Plant construction commenced on March 18, 1997 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China. The first car came off the production line on December 18, 1999. And on August 22, 2007, the one-millionth car of Chery rolled out the assembly line successfully, which signifies that Chery has already achieved its first-stage goal in the process of building a successful independent Chinese brand, and is now on its way to create a world famous brand through opening and innovation.
