Connect All Ages and Celebrate Intergeneration Month September

By: PRLog
PRLog - Aug. 5, 2014 - COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- September is designated Intergeneration Month, an annual worldwide celebration to connect all ages.  Proclamations from 43 states have been received and endorsed by numerous organizations such as Generations United, American Library Association and American Association of Museums.  In addition, international organizations around the world are promoting intergeneration programs, specifically Canada, Africa and New Zealand.

What does all this mean?  There has been a breakdown of communications between people of different generations.  Intergeneration Month September Founder, Sandy Kraemer stated “I have become alarmed observing the lack of strengths sharing between generations.  I see my generation fulfilling personal needs without sharing strengths with younger people, without planning for future generations.  To increase awareness of this generational conflict – some say generational war – I started Intergeneration Month: September to share generational strengths.”

Intergeneration Foundation Trustee Aisha C. Young, M.A., ADC added, “Organizations around the world are promoting intergenerational programs because of the benefits to individuals of all ages as well as the larger community.”

Executive Director, Cydney Campbell said “there are many ways to celebrate.  The celebrations are really endless, the whole idea is to connect and take an opportunity to educate another generation.”

Intergeneration Month: September’s mission is to connect all ages and is promoted and celebrated all September as a time to intentionally connect generations and stage intergenerational events by communicating, celebrating and educating.  Your participation is needed to make the strengths of each   generation meet the needs of all generations.
