In fact, the Author herself shared the news with her social media following on November 30th, the final day of the contest, “Thank you for all of the encouragement during NaNoWriMo. I submitted a manuscript with 50,232 words at 11:05pm. Happy NaNoWriMo and good luck to any other participants out there finishing up tonight.” A grueling but inspiring contest for writers across the country, National Novel Writing Month was originally a motivational goal among a group of friends to write their novels in a month, but has since grown into a nonprofit organization and national competition. Though she was born in Germany and raised in Turkey until the age of five, Emilyann Girdner spent the majority of her grade school years in Tallahassee, Florida. She discovered early she had a love for stories.
