Dollar weaker ahead of economic data

The U.S. dollar lost ground versus major rivals Wednesday. The yen shrugged off a downgrade of Japan’s credit rating and the euro found support despite further signs of slowing growth in Germany as investors look ahead to Friday’s speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
