Retro World(TM) Taps into Hidden Object Market

LANGHORNE, Pa., Feb. 28, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Social and casual game developer and publisher Entertainment Games, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EGAM) today announced a new hidden object game within their online social game platform Retro World™.

Hide & Hunt takes a novel and uniquely social approach to the hidden object game, allowing players not just to hunt for hidden objects – but to hide them. For three rounds, players take turns "hiding" objects and then challenging their friends to "hunt" for those objects, culminating in a frenzied lightning round. Retro-themed hidden object scenes range from a cluttered Hollywood prop closet to a classic '60s backyard BBQ, and all objects are themed specifically for each scene.

As an exciting bonus, the game will launch with one licensed scene: the classic living room set from I Love Lucy. Players will take turns hiding B&W, '50s-era objects amongst one of the most iconic TV sets of all time.

With Hide & Hunt, players will discover the thrill of finding that perfect spot to stump their friends – and conversely, the excitement of spotting an object as the last seconds tick off the timer.

"We are combining the ever popular hidden object genre with the fun competition and bragging rights associated with social games," said Gene Mauro, President at Entertainment Games. "Players can hide items in places both easy and tricky, and then invite any of their friends to find them. And with 'challenge' and chat features, players can catch up and compete with friends, all while enjoying the game."

Along with Hide & Hunt, Retro World features a number of classic games including decade-themed versions of Mahjong, as well as retro takes on the Match-3 genre and arcade games like The Big Fish Off and Scattershot Golf. In addition, episodic, television-like adventure games include Kat the Brat and OWL Files, both set in the 1960s.

Entertainment Games is currently working on a number of new features, including branded episodes featuring popular classic television shows.
