BP to settle lawsuit for $5.4M over discrimination claims

BP Plc. (NYSE: BP) is settling a class action suit for $5.4 million with women who allege the oil giant and its contractors did not employ them because of their gender during the 2010 oil spill clean up. The Houston Chronicle reports that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said, after an investigation into the women’s claims, it did not find that BP discriminated against them.
