Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. (NYSE: CDE) blamed lower silver prices for falling to a greater than expected loss for the third quarter of 18 cents per share compared with earnings of 26 cents per share last year. The stock price plummeted $6.27 to close at $24.10.
