Utilidata Names Siobhan MacDermott as Chief Information Security Officer

Utilidata, Inc., the digital technology company focused on automated energy conservation and management for utilities and large industrial customers, announced today that Siobhan MacDermott has joined the firm as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Based at Utilidata’s Providence, R.I., headquarters, Ms. MacDermott is responsible for overseeing the company’s information technology and product security programs, and ensuring that Utilidata’s products and processes are developed with the challenges of 21st century cyber security in mind.

An industry veteran with an authoritative voice on the security topic, Ms. MacDermott most recently served as Chief Policy Officer of AVG Technologies (NYSE: AVG) and is a former executive at Intel Security (formerly McAfee Security). In addition to her global policy experience, she has authored three books on cyber security and is currently working on a fourth.

Ms. MacDermott is a US and EU citizen, has worked on four continents and speaks five languages. She has an MBA from Thunderbird, a Global Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and advises and serves on several Board of Directors. She is the Vice Chair of the Fund for Peace.
