With the Colorado pickup hitting the showroom this fall, Chevy has turned its eyes toward the future with new vehicles.
The Cruze is General Motors' top-selling cars in the global market, the Volt is one of the most popular hybrids around, and the Camaro is an iconic muscle car, and by redesigning and updating their models, Chevrolet aims to keep these vehicles in their positions at the top of their class by ensuring they continue to meet and exceed the needs of drivers.
No announcement has been made about the Cruze's diesel engine returning for the 2016 model, but based on the Chinese version that premiered in April, the new Cruze will have a standard 1.5L four-cylinder and a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder available, featuring a revolutionary design change with a more rounded grille and coupe elements like a fastback roof and a steep windshield.
The next generation of the Camaro sports car looks like it will shed quite a few pounds and could feature anything from a 2.0L turbocharged engine with 272 hp to a 6.2L V8 that found a home in the 2014 Corvette. It is expected that the current 3.6L V6 is likely to remain the base engine.
Finally, Chevy's new Volt is scheduled for a redesign in the second half of 2015 for the 2016 model year, adding a fifth seat and trading its 1.4L four-cylinder for a 1.0L three-cylinder. This is just one of the changes expected to boost the expected range of the plug-in hybrid.
