Engility Wins $23 Million Contract to Provide Engineering and Analytical Support to NextGen Program

Engility Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:EGL), today announced it has been awarded a $23 million contract to provide engineering and analytical support to help the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implement the Next Generation Air Traffic Control System, commonly known as NextGen.

NextGen is the FAA’s key initiative to shift air traffic control from ground-based radar to “smarter,” satellite-based and digital technologies and procedures designed to make air travel more efficient and predictable, resulting in a reduced impact on the environment.

“This win reflects the outstanding technical capabilities of our team and their exceptional past performance at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center,” said Engility President and CEO Tony Smeraglinolo. “We appreciate the confidence our DOT customer has placed in our work and look forward to supporting the NextGen program.”

This task order award represents a combination of new and recompete work, and is a cost plus fixed fee contract with a 38-month period of performance.
