Savannah, GA – On Oct 4th, Ellia Wang announced the launch of a new line of handcrafted geometry earrings and women’s accessories on Kickstarter. Since launching, the project has gained nearly $10k in funding from interested early buyers.
“This collection is inspired by paper sculpture and the interaction of light and form. The possibility of paper inspired me to create something different from the structure of bags; to create something that transcends the traditional handbag styles.” – Ellia Wang.
The Geometry Collection includes the Geometry Layer Clutch, which comes in black in white, is made from Italian Calfskin, and is fully lined with black pebbled-textured vegan leather. It also features the the Mini Tote, the Geometry Flower Bag, and a variety of earrings ranging from the ‘fortune cookie’ to the ‘pinwheel.’
Unlike traditional fashion entrepreneurs, Wang has made a pledge to produce high quality accessories, while also putting an emphasis on ethical working conditions for her employees. All jewelry and handbags are made in the USA and she has made a commitment to pay her workers a fair wage.
“I worked as a designer for nearly 7 years before finally deciding to come to the United States, study design management and open my own brand. The funds from the Kickstarter campaign will be used to rent studio and retail space, which will improve the company’s workflow and help finance the initial production run of The Geometry Collection.
The crowdfunding campaign will be live until November 16th, during which time interested buyers can claim exclusive ‘perks’ or ‘rewards’ in exchange for supporting the campaign. These perks range from owning an item from The Geometry Collection, like the Geometry Layer Clutch or Geometry Flower Bag, to getting a handwritten thank you note from the Ellia Wang herself.
