UK – 03.02.2015 – The new Logitech ConferenceCam Connect was launched last week and is designed to increase portability of video conferencing. Often you have to move rooms at short notice which can be problematic if you are in the middle of a video conference. With the new ConferenceCam, you can simply move rooms with it assuming that it has not been locked down with the Kensington lock port.
The unit comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery offering good battery life and allows you flexibility to where you want to place the unit. You are not forced to find a space close to a plug socket. The ConferenceCam offers a 90-degree field of view, 22 degrees more than the BCC950, and a 4x full HD zoom. Other features include digital pan, tilt and zoom features which can all be controlled via a remote control.
Although video conferencing is nothing new, typically it is only larger rooms that are fitted out with video conferencing equipment. Most small conference rooms are not equipped and therefore rely on the systems that are on their laptops. With the new ConferenceCam Connect, this gap in the market can be filled.
The ConferenceCam Connect is aimed at small workgroup collaboration settings which are typically up to six people. It combines an HD 1080p video camera with dual microphones and a speakerphone for 360-degree audio. It has been designed to sit between the entry level BCC950 and the upper-end ConferenceCam CC3000e.
The ConferenceCam works with most computer systems and is certified for Microsoft Lync and also works with Cisco jabber, WebEx, Skype and many other systems.
