Austin's Largest Continuous Concrete Pour Featured 10,680 Cubic Yards of Concrete
PRLog - April 24, 2015 - DALLAS -- Austin, Texas - 500 W. 2nd Street, the 29-story, 500,000 square foot office tower located at San Antonio and 2nd Street in Austin reached a significant construction milestone over the April 18-19, 2015, weekend and made history in the process. In order to lay the foundation for 500 W. 2nd Street, construction manager The Beck Group coordinated downtown Austin’s largest-ever continuous concrete foundation pour. The construction process placed more than 10,680 cubic yards of concrete in just over 24 hours.

The resulting monumental foundation slab is more than nine feet deep and holds more than 1,200 tons of rebar support. The highly anticipated office tower will soon begin vertical construction, with two tower cranes to erect on site within the next two weeks.

Trammell Crow Company and Principal Real Estate Investors owns and is developing the entire master planned project, along with its first phase. Key team members include Gensler as project architect and The Beck Group as construction manager.
