Cognizant Technology Solutions (Nasdaq: CTSH) reported higher first quarter earnings and revenue that topped analyst estimates.
Biocept (Nasdaq: BIOC) launched its c-MET amplification detection test utilizing a blood-based liquid biopsy.
On the downside
Profit taking weighed down share of Syngenta (NYSE: SYT) .
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: KERX) widened first quarter losses more than expected as revenue fell.
Halyard Health (NYSE: HYH) disappointed with sharply lower first quarter earnings as revenue fell.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 5 to 2 on both the NYSE and on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 gained 10 points to 2119. Bitcoin added $1 to $241.
