Advanced Roofing, Florida’s Top Commercial Roofing Contractor, Wins Best-in Florida Project Honors

By: PRLog
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Aug. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- As Advanced Roofing Inc. (ARI) expands statewide, the company has received top statewide roofing industry honors. ARI ranks as the number one commercial roofing contractor in Florida for the third consecutive year -- and fourteenth in the U.S. – in national magazine Roofing Contractor’s just-published annual ranking.

Also this summer, ARI won the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association’s 2015 S.T.A.R. Award for best roofing project in Florida, recognizing the contractor’s work on the University of Miami (UM) Frost School of Music building in Coral Gables. ARI also earned FRSA’s first-place Sustainability Award for that new two-building project, based on waterproofing and solar work. In addition, ARI won top honors in FRSA’s Low Slope category for Southeast Financial Center re-roofing in downtown Miami.

With seven Florida branches, a staff of 300 and over $71 million in revenue for 2014, Fort Lauderdale-based Advanced Roofing is the highest-earning commercial roofing contractor in the State of Florida. Roofing Contractor magazine’s ranking, based solely on revenues, reflects the upswing in the roofing industry, including new construction and re-roofing markets, according to ARI President and CEO Robert Kornahrens. Targeting 20 percent revenue growth in 2015, Fort Lauderdale-based ARI this year expanded into the Tampa Bay market and plans to hire 30 additional employees by year-end, Kornahrens said.

The FRSA awards for the UM Frost School of Music building were based on overcoming challenges with roofing, waterproofing and solar array in construction of two new buildings last year on an active college campus. The Frost School of Music project is seeking Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and would be the first in the City of Coral Gables to achieve that environmental honor.

The Frost School of Music’s completed solar arrays, which include 286 solar panels, are expected to offset 13 percent of the structure’s total energy consumption, producing 101.344 Megawatt hours annually. General contractor for the project was Skanska USA, and award-winning architects Yann Weymouth and HOK designed the facility.

Re-roofing the Southeast Financial Center, Miami’s second-tallest building, involved challenges recognized with the Low Slope honor, including removing tear-off debris and loading materials onto the 56th floor.
